An Introduction to Science

*sigh* OK. Somewhere on this site I might have mentioned I was not going to talk about my person. Yes, this might have been only a few days ago. And I’m breaking the rules already: I’m going to tell you this: I’m in science. And when I say in science I mean I’m knee-deep up to my bloody neck in it. So there is no dipping my toes in and unsurely considering whether or not I want to indulge in it. No, a few years ago I took my turn and plunged right in. Haven’t gotten out of it since then.

However, after all this time I can tell you: Science is a peculiar thing. Science will explain things that seem magical, without taking the magic out of it. I mean, just because you know how a thunderstorm is formed doesn’t make it less fascinating.

So as we roam this world (and the beyond) we sometimes wonder about things. Human beings are (or should be) curious by nature. But at some point in life all of us learned a lesson that was called something along the lines of: “Questions – and why you should stop asking them”. I want you to forget about this lesson. It was complete b…alderdash. (No swearing under my tutelage)

And if you are one of the few people, who are still asking questions, but you find the answers complicated or WORSE, lacking, that’s where I might jump in.

I love Science. I really do. But Science has a knack to make things seem more rigid and difficult as they are. Remember our first lesson of life? Science can be intriguing at best and tricky at worst, but if you find that you did not understand let me tell you: In most cases it wasn’t you, it was your instructor. I will make an exception and lend you a helping hand. I will not only ask questions, I will also answer them along the way; in a way that is (hopefully) easier to digest than your aunt’s last christmas dinner (for digestible AND nutrient-rich food check out this treat). My pleasure.
